Bordertown---the garage!

When I was a child--many, many years ago! Movies were sometimes shot , partially, in residential neighborhoods and of course all the neighbors would turn out to see the fun! One evening we could see the klieg lights in the sky, so our parents bundled me and my brother into the car and we drove up to the hills behind our house in Sherman Oaks,CA to see the fun. They were shooting the garage door scene on, I believe, the street was named Vista. It was exciting but they shot it several times and I was only 9 and my brother was 3--we were tired and wanted to go home! I heard later that the home they used belonged to either the producer or the director of the film.

Thanks for sharing your memory! I lived in San Marcos for a bit, and various members of the Sheen family had filmed a couple of movies there (or it may have been one spaced out over a very long period of time). They filmed in the historical district where I was renting an apartment. The whole street was closed down, and all the trucks had moved in to set up for filming. I enjoyed all the hoopla.
