A "MORE CONTEMPORARY" VERSION OF A BL-"ESQUE" SCENE

There's a scene from an "I Dream of Jeannie" episode titled, "Jeannie The Recording Secretary" which has undeniable "BL" qualities.

Without boring you with the episode's full details, the final scene involves Jeannie accidentally *blinking* the dresses off four women, all of whom are the wives of military personnel, including an imperious and pompous wife of an admiral as well as the wife of Dr Bellows.

In the room at the time are the four aforementioned women, Major Nelson, Major Healey and Dr Bellows.

Once the ladies are suddenly divested of their dresses, and realize they're in their full white slips, their initial shock is quickly replaced by numbing humiliation. They panic, cover up and squeal with embarrassment. Major Nelson admonishes Jeannie for her mistake; Major Healy, to his credit, reacts like a perfect gentleman as he shields his eyes and looks away as not to embarrass the ladies any further. Dr Bellows - his wife on full display in her unmentionables in front of his two male colleagues- attempts to restore his wife's dignity by hastily removing his uniform jacket and covers his wife.

The ladies unable to endure their embarrassment, bolt from the office and into the hallway, where, presumably, scores of uniformed offices will get an eyeful and they are made laughing stocks.

I remembered that episode! Wish some of the ladies were younger! Always a fan of Dr. Bellows wife thought she was cute. Loved her expression when she learned her dress was gone--liked to have been in the hallway when they came running out and maybe a foot caused someone tripping with there slip riding up embarrassing them more.

You're right on all counts. Emmaline Henry, who portrayed Amanda Bellows, was definitely hot. Her character could be bitchy and pushy but she was good looking.

I agree. She offers one of the more animated reactions when she realizes that her dress has vanished.
