I always like watching grandma raise the curtain watch her face as she is pulling the rope. She knows what is happing to her daughter and is loving it.

shareI think she is overjoyed that she caught Kitty the way she did. She would have had to look and see that the grommet hook had come free when Kitty put the pole into the electrical socket. I was told by a friend who worked in the theater and knew how these curtains worked told me there are grommets on the top and bottom of these stage curtains preventing them from opening side to side. If it is required they unhook the grommet pins and they can open curtains from side to side. What happens when Kitty gets shocked she opens the grommet and then it is dangling off the bottom of the curtain and as she pulls that curtain behind her the grommet is poised right between her shoes and her dress hem.
shareThe funny thing is that Kitty sealed her fate, basically unhooking the grommet , if she had left it hooked her dress would not have been hooked and ripped off over her head! In an indirect way she literally set the stage for her self humiliation and embarassment!

In the one scene where it shows Granny pulling down the curtain she starts to squat down almost in the position of the prop with her legs open---just a coincidence? Should Granny pay a small price for embarrassing Kitty in front of an audience? Like a sandbag knocking her down to the ground like the MC? Maybe if Granny was played by someone younger she might have a clothing malfunction--sandbag knocking her down on her ass, legs go up and her skirt slides up revealing a lot of leg/slip etc just to the people behind the stage.
shareGood observation about her legs and the squatting position. In my rewrite one of the other mothers maybe even daisys mom is at the ropes and just as she gives the last heave ho pull down on the rope a secondary hook is lowered behind her quickly rising back up but snags her dress and violently ripping it right over her head revealing her in only panties, thigh highs and bra because the hook took not only her dress but snagged the slip with it giving everyone a double treat of 2 mothers exposed and humiliated!
