One thing I found out from a friend who worked in theaters was the stage curtains were held together with a a thing called a grommet. There are 2 grommets on each curtain one on top and one on the bottom. They held the curtain halves together. Spank's mom opened the bottom grommet when she got the shock and it's the grommet pin or hook that catches her dress.

I didn’t know that so she kind of added to her demise by unhooking the grommet? If she didn’t she would not have been as humiliated as she was?

Yes she opened the grommet so it was the open grommet pin or hook which caught her dress

God stuff to know , I think if we can dissect this short further we will be able to find out and learn a lot more!
