Um, the WHAT Cup?

This movie's leading lady, Miriam Hopkins, was nominated for an Oscar.
The film was also presented at the prestigious Venice Film Festival where it was nominated for an honor that for some reason has since been discontinued: The Mussolini Cup.
Introduced at the 1934 festival, it seems to have fallen out of favor after 1942 when the festival took a 4-year hiatus. For Best Foreign Film, what a surprise, the final winner was German. When the festival resumed in 1946, like Mussolini, the Cup was in the scrap heap of history.
