DVD -scene missing?

The print on the New DVD is incomplete. A scene on a gondola in Venice is missing. Any ideas if there were two versions? I.E. a US print & a European print? I have the complete film from a BBC Telecast ...so it must still exist.
What say you, movie buffs?

I just got the dvd, and there was a scene in a gondola in Venice.. is this the same scene that you are referring to, I wonder?

Yes but on the DVD is is shortened...in my print it is much longer

What else happens in the scene? How much longer is it? I wodner why on the dvd it is shorter?
