Ah, Wilderness source

I've heard 'Ah,Youth, Ah, Wilderness' referred to. Does anyone know the source of the quote?

reply

Since nobody answered Wikipedia says:

The title derives from Quatrain XI of Edward Fitzgerald's translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, which is one of Richard's favorite poems.

Thanks for the info. Just watched the film today. Still holds up. Nicely done.

Here's the verse others have referred to:

"A Book of Verses underneath the Bough,
A Jug of Wine, a Loaf of Bread--and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness--
Oh, Wilderness were Paradise enow!"
