A bit of Trivia

Both Ralph Bellamy & Sidney Blackmer appeared in this movie, & 34 yrs. later, both appeared together again in Rosemary's Baby as a couple of senior devil-worshippers.

They were also both in Dance Girl Dance, Trade Winds, Ellery Queen and the Perfect Crime, and Philco Hour's Macbeth.

It's all interesting Trivia but it's not very surprising. I notice a lot of the movies from that era featured the same group of supporting and lead actors. Under the studio system, it made sense because the actors weren't just under contract, they were actually on site in the studio on a daily basis. That made it easy for them to make more than one movie at a time.

Later, as these actors grew older and fewer of the old timers were still alive, it made sense that the ones still acting might end up in the same movies; especially those that contained older characters. Younger viewers might not have noticed them but I bet the older ones, who'd known them from the past, were thrilled to see the veterans on the screen again.

Today when actors and crew work together repeatedly, which is often the case, I assume it's because everyone involved enjoys working together, they're making yet another sequel, and/or they have found success collaborating in the past. For some reason, I'm much less interested in seeing the same group of actors in modern movies. It never seems to bother me when this happens in older movies.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
