IF they are redoing this film/series I'd like to see

Benedict Cumberbatch as Nick because he can pull off a martini-shaking old Hollywood glamour with ease plus he's great in comedy. (See Cabin Pressure, Starter for 10 or even the funny parts of Sherlock.)

and

Marion Cotillard or Eva Green as Nora. Having seen Marion's Love Me If You Dare and Eva's Dark Shadows, I think they'd be interesting as Nora. The thing is you wont be able to get another Myrna, so whoever takes the role will have to make it their own, so different in performance but true in spirit might be a good thing.

Sorry to suggest non-Americans but I cant see any contemporary America actors or actresses who could pull off these two roles. Amongst the youngish actresses I see people who are more the sort of laugh at me actresses than laugh with me type. The only smart, laugh with me type comedienne I can think of is Sarah Michelle Gellar, who never did make her mark in films and is also not quite right for Nora. That's it, I just figured it out: SMG has presence and exudes intelligence and class -something that's actually rather rare in actors and actresses nowadays. Hang on, folks, Jessica Chastain could bring all that. Uh-oh, mind blown!

Cumberbatch and Chastain would be perfect!

so glad they're not redoing this film/series.

(but i'm hoping for a "citizen kane" re-boot any day now!)

I have little interest in a remake, but I think Eva Green would be great as Nora.

Nothing against Benedict Cumberbatch, but an American should play Nick Charles, after all he was a NYC detective before he met Nora. I do think Jessica Chastain is an interesting choice.
