Just for trivia_fun. What exact cocktails and alcohol drinks do Nick and Nora please themselves with throughout the Thin Man series? I guess I remember Nora ordering five Margaritas at once.

They were Martinis. I'm not sure if Margaritas were vogue in the 30's. Maybe, I wasn't around then.

Margaritas weren't invented until 1948 in Acapulco.

In After the Thin Man, Nick lamented that the last of his Napolean brandy was nearly gone.

Nora had Rye.

"Scotch... with a Champaigne chaser."
"Likewise."

Actually she ordered five martinis to go along with the one that Nick had given her, so really she ordered six martinis

In the kitchen at the party, she her drink was rye.

He served trays of what looked like martinis, but refered to them at one point as cocktails.

Nora said that Nick had a case of scotch at one point

Reporter to Nora: Is he working on a case?
Nora: Yes. A Case of Scotch. Pitch in and help him.

Nick, "The last 5 martinis. How about a little pick-me-up?"
Nora,"NO!"

Nick,"The important thing is the rhythm. Always have rhythm in your shaking. Now a Manhattan you shake to fox-trot time, a Bronx to two-step time, a dry martini you always shake to waltz time."
