Just saw this movie this morning on TCM and.........

I saw this movie this morning and I must say that Richard Dix is magic!!! I saw him in some other movie recently where he was on a chain gang and again I say "magic"!!!! There is something charismatic about him and you watch only him when he is in the scene. Of course, I have always loved Irene Dunne. A beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. She is amazing in that she can play scenes that make you cry (Love Affair) and in My favorite Wife she is a riot, also in The Awful Truth. Getting back to Dix though, I must say he is absolutely gorgeous. Now I must visit his website !!!!!!!!!! Oops, I didn't pay much attention to the story in this movie, I was just watching Dix! LOL

Yes!! GOd bless TCM for playing it. Stingaree is a gem.
I had it burned to DVD from that showing you mentioned.
I love TCM and classic film.

hallo hoferpm, jolly nice to see another irene dunne fan. u named 2 of my favourite irene dunne films- "awful truth and 'my favourite wife. she is a brilliant actress isnt she? i can not think of another quite like her. she and richard dix had rather good chemistry as well. its a pity richard dix passed away quite young tho.

I enjoyed the movie but I didn't have quite the same reaction to Richard Dix. He's okay but I didn't find him nearly as attractive as you did. Clearly he's supposed to have some mesmerizing effect on Hilda but I didn't see it.
