Anybody else think this may have been a partial inspiration for Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway? A gangster producing a Broadway show just to showcase an inappropriate leading lady, and henchmen re-writing the dialogue - B.O.B. was no copy of this, but watching one, you can't help thinking of the other.

Yes, definitely! And Chazz Palmentieri even channeled Nat Pendleton, it seems. Both are hilarious movies, very enjoyable.
