'Sink me!'

My favorite Pimpernil was a fairly flamboyant lead who went through the movie saying, "Sink me!", whenever he was amazed.
PLEASE - Does anyone know this version??

He says it a number of times, this version is wonderful, and Merle Oberon was the most beautiful woman in the history of the world when she filmed this, she's an absolute knockout!

OP, you may be thinking of the 1982 miniseries with Anthony Andrews and Jane Seymour. However, as the previous poster reported, Leslie Howard's pimpernel does say "Sink me" several times in this version.

The expression "Sink me!" is short for "Sink me to the devil!" which is an old sailor expression (remember Percy Blakeney does own a yacht.)

I think it must be the Jane Semore version because I've seen the Merle Oberon one and that's not the one that kept me in stitches!
Thanks for the feedback, both of you!

Definitely the 1982 version -- after reciting Sir Percy's poem, Andrews exclaims "Sink me! It rhymes!"

I just watched the 1934 version and Percy definitely says Sink Me numerous times as well Oberon and they both played off Raymond Massey so well.
