Marlene's personal favorite film?

Hi -

I just saw the fascinating 1983 documentary "Marlene" by Maximilian Schell. Near the end he finally gets Ms. Dietrich (with great reluctance) to agree to watch some of her scenes and possibly make comments about them. When he asks her which film to start with, she says the "The Scarlett Empress" is the best. When he asks her why it is the best, she replies simply that it is the best. She then asks that they move to the end of the film, and they show maybe the final two minutes or so of the film. She says almost nothing, and when Schell mentions this, she replies to the effect that it is such great art, what can she say about it?

For any Marlene Dietrich fan, that documentary is well worth tracking down.

I thought she always said "The Devil Is A Woman" was her favorite, because, quote, "I looked the most beautiful in it."
