What did he die from? Was it "Old Movie Disease" or something? Just wondering.

Old Movie Disease - too funny! I don't think it ever indicated what he had - he just started to cough and it was game over.

On another note, I've been watching classics for a few years now and so often there are no recent comments on many of these old movies. Funny to see you posted just today! We must be in the same TCM movie watching area. I'm now watching Unholy Partners - Edward G Robinson and Edward Arnold....

TB was my original guess due to the coughing but TB is highly contagious. At first he may not have known but he coughed on a lot of people. Even after he was in the hospital he was still unmasked and coughing when Sadie came in.
