Is it love? - Spoiler Alert

I have a hard time believing that Katrin falls in love with Fane so quickly. Over time I can see her gaining respect for him because of his work but it all seemed to happen too soon. It seemed more like she was punishing herself for having been with Townsend.

If Townsend had not handled the situation the way he did and instead dropped everything and ran off with her, she wouldn't have given Fane another thought. Townsend's rejection really shocked and hurt her. She was vulnerable, scared, and lonely. Fane was all she had left; the only constant in her life. Call it dependence, desperation, guilt; but I wouldn't call what she had for or with him love. If he were to die, there would be nothing left.
