Couldn't agree more! I loved it! The idea that the place they were trapped in was an apartment in the middle of a city was pretty unique but also added to the creepiness of it.
shareI know! Usually the characters would be trapped in some isolated country house, and here, they were right smack in the middle of....I think it was New York. And yet they were still unable to contact anyone, leave the house, etc. Kinda makes me wonder how the killer managed to arrange everything there without the landlord knowing anything about it.

I'm watching this again now. I still can't get over just what a good movie this is.

Fake lighted pendulum beneath the silly contemporary electric wall clock with its unnecessary relentless "tocking" was entirely pointless and annoying. Otherwise, the movie was completely enjoyable despite a rather haggard plot we've seen far too many times AFTERWARDS to the point of ad nauseam. Nonetheless, earns 9 out of 10 stars as can always be expected from anything by Roy William Neill--one of the very best Directors of all time.
shareI never noticed the "tocking". Next time I watch this film, I'll pay more attention.
I agree that this plot has been done a number of times, but I don't mind that at all. It's fun to watch, pretty much each time.
