After seeing 1939's"The Women" and the crazy fashion of Adrian...Whenever I see a cooky hat on a woman or a excentric look on the lead male-I am almost always certain ADRIAN was the costume designer...The character Jane wears this crazy hat and her formal gowns are a dead give away.Sure enough-its ADRIAN

Ha! I have to agree about the hats. As a child, I remember my mom referred to those hats as "being real george". WTF?

Anyway, Adrian was quite the designer back then so you're bound to see more of these costumes.

If you don't like Adrian's hats you will never like Garbo's Ninotcka. Remember however, that he designed the costumes for The Wizard of Oz.
