Restored version from 2012 coming on DVD/BluRay in December 2013

The best adaptation of Les Misérables ever shot was restored by Pathé in 2012. The three sections have been scanned in 4K from the original nitrate negative and the result is beautiful.
I had the chance to see it in Paris earlier this year and it is currently displayed on French national TV.

They found back a missing chapter in the first part and overall length is now 290mins vs Criterion 279mins.

Pathé releases it in 4 DVDs and 2 Blurays with a booklet about the movie genesis on December the 4th...

Hope it will help this masterpiece to get the attention it deserves !

The French blu-ray release is region-free and has English subtitles.
