Clark Gable was such a gem

The scene at the end in the cell with Gable and Powell is one of my favorites. There'll never be another like him.

Mine, too. When there's the long shot of Gable going through the door, that gets me. He could talk the Blackie talk but everyone walking to the electric chair is alone, even surrounded by other men, It's so tragic, even though he was guilty and admitted his guilt.

Then, when you see the long shot of Powell as the lights flicker and he stops, then starts, that is so sad. Soul-crushing.

One - surely.Powell should have excused himself from prosecuting his friend for killing his aide?
Two - I'd have commuted Gable's sentence and then pardoned him the day before I.ceased to.be Governor.
