Worst Version Ever!!!!!

It is the sugar coated super condensed version that barely resembles the book. I would suggest skipping over this version.

I agree wholeheartedly!! I bought the DVD not really expecting much anyway. Well, every moment is excruciatingly awful! Is this from a version of the book I've never read? Please enlighten me!!!! Mr. Rochester is completely wrong and is way too nice to Adele! There are too many problems to actually name, but I would agree with the other poster......just skip it....pretend it was never made!

My favourite movie version is the 1944 one with Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine. It is MUCH superior!!

i want to see it just because i like to try and see ever film version of a story I've read no matter how bad.....lol

The movie was in a 50 Family Movie Classics DVD set I bought very inexpensively, and since I love the book, I had to watch the movie when I discovered it (dh couldn't believe I found *another* version of Jane Eyre - LOL!). It is certainly the worst version of Jane Eyre that I've ever seen and hardly resembles the book. The actors were awful, Jane was way too tall and attractive, and Rochester was too nice. I could list lots of things wrong with the movie, but I'll spare you all. Since I was sick with the flu when I watched it, it wasn't like I wasted time watching it when I could have been doing something useful. :->

I recently watched the 1973 BBC version with Sorcha Cusack and Michael Jayston, got sick with the flu and watched the 1983 BBC version with Timothy Dalton at least four times (and followed along in the book while watching it, sometimes pausing the DVD to read material not included in the mini-series), before discovering this old version, so those two very accurate BBC versions and the book were very fresh in my mind while watching this oldie.

Oh come on! It's worth it just to get some cheap giggles :D Adele falling left and right like a drunk monkey? It's hilarious!

Yes. I definitely agree--it's the worst.

"Sugar coated"?? You are far too kind to this awful travesty of a movie that makes Plan Nine From Outer Space seem like a space epic on a par with 2001: A Space Odyssey!!

For me, it had all the fascination of a snake pit.
