The BEST from the 30's

This movie symbolizes what that decade was all about:

-stiff upper lip in adversity

-laugh at yourself even when facing hardship

-marriage is a sacred thing(walls of Jericho)

-always hopeful through tough times(who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf)

-social cohesion & spirit(bus sing-a-long:man on the flying trapeze)

-lack of class warfare(witness Today)

-grit,determination and willpower was the order of the Day(moxie)!

It is very good but not the best of the '30s. It isn't even the best Clark Gable of the '30s.

I'm sure that you know what they say about opinions.

Actually, from looking at your list of ' favorite films ', my opinion is that you aren't even remotely qualified to have an opinion like that.

reply

There is a difference between best and favorites. And besides, you think this is better than Gone with the wind?

-lack of class warfare(witness Today)

You think that the 1930s lacked class warfare?

That's just so darned cute.

reply

Compared to the shamelessness and socialism of today, the 30's can't hold a

candlestick when it comes to class warfare;

in fact, folk strove to aspire to succeed materially and be rich.
