Bozo Miller

told me this was the original version of "Highway West". It is also the Warner Bros. archetype for all desert dramas of a similar stripe right up to "Baghdad Cafe". I love the desert and I love sand flies, too.

Aline MacMahon is my all time favorite mother in cinema and so it was a real treat to see her in a lead role and in a role which she isn't playing someone so old. Lots of personality, fiestyness, witty, independent ;a perfect example of the pre-code woman.

The way I see it, is that we weren't retreating, we were just attacking in a new direction.
