Ginger Rogers' dress

What colors were in that dress Ginger Rogers wore in "The Continental"? Does anyone know?

Can't be certain the tinting of this photo is accurate, G, but here is one take:

Well, that one has shades of Green, with Ginger's platinum hair as auburn.

This one has Maroon and White, with her platinum

And this one has Black and Cyan, but doesn't have the necessary contrast of the others.

Or it may have been Black and White all along?

Good question.

Whatever the colors were, the design was such that the viewer had no trouble picking her out from among all the other female dancers. Movie studios had experts in all of the arts of filmmaking in the '30s.

And, thank God, no-one has tried to "colorize" this masterpiece!

I have no idea, but I think it should have been red towards the hem and hairy stuff on the shoulders and the main part white--or maybe orangey yellow.

According to no less of an authority than Ms. Rogers herself, the dress was silver lame with teal blue accents.

Ahhh, teal blue. My favorite !
