Lyrics to Spin a Little Web of Dreams

Does anyone have the lyrics to the song "Spin a Little Web of Dreams" from this film? Teasdale sings it in the opening. Thanks!

Here you go, CushyJob - these are copied directly from the sheet music that was issued at the same time the film came out...

Verse:
When your melody of tomorrow seems to go astray,
Steal away with me to the land of “Let’s Pretend.”
Sing your lonely song of the blues in a happy-go-lucky rhyme,
When you wake you’ll find that it’s all been blended, mended.

Refrain:
Play your broken melody
Upon the strings of fantasy
Forget about your rainbow schemes,
Spin a little web of dreams.
There’s a rosy dawn on high
That flames across a summer sky,
To capture all it’s golden beams
Spin a little web of dreams.
Trade your pillow for a Willow silvered by the moon
Linger there and Love will find you soon
Love will take you by the hand
and lead you to its wonderland;
Forget about your rainbow schemes,
Spin a little web of dreams.

You have made one nutty professor even more so - but he's thrilled and just finished serenading me the song (I had to kick him out of my office). Thanks to you, Bruce, and the trouble you went through finding and posting the lyrics. Who says there are no nice people left in the world!?? All the best, cushy

Glad I could help...I know how these things can sometimes be hard to find. Plus it makes my drawers full of ancient music sheets seem worthwhile.

Okay, I was impressed by the person who recognized one of the costumes from another movie, but you with "drawers full of ancient music sheets" are on a different plane.

I don't mean to pry (well, maybe a little), but are you a music historian?

Ha, ha! Thanks for your observation, RodFtLaud,...I laughed out loud...and how often does that happen these days? I guess you might call me an amateur music historian. Someone saw me buying a LP a while back and said, "What are you buying that for...don't you know its obsolete?" My response was simple, "No more obsolete than my 16mm film, 78rpm records, and player piano rolls." When I run across a snappy old tune I like, the search for a music sheet is on - then I learn to bang it out on the piano. So, there you have it! (Oh, yes I have plenty of modern CD's as well...and I'm afraid there isn't a single "rap" song amongst them.)

It's even better that you do it because you love it.

I can feel the satisfaction it gives you from your post.
