what happened at the end? My DVD-R cut off at the end!

I am so irritated that my DVD-R cut off the movie during the last 5 minutes! I take it this is becuase TCM had underestimated the running time of the previous silent film, as that ran for quite a while before The Clairvoyant began. Claude Rains was just about to (maybe, maybe not) make a prediction on the witness stand! What a time to get cut off! So...if anyone could tell me what happens from there, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Maximus "sees" that the missing 110 workers are actually alive and making their way through the tunnel to freedom. When that news reaches the Court, the judge dismisses all charges.

The final scene has Claude and Fay in American watching a sideshow featuring a mind reading act. They smile at each other and walk away.

Many thanks! I see that TCM is repeating the movie in July - they must have had a few complaints about the DVR problem.

I'm watching it on TCM right now, September 23...it's wonderful and I'm happy to have found it!

as of today, 7/30/07, TCM.COM still lists the 1934 version of Clairvoyant at 72-73 minutes; the version tcm aired 7/28/07 was approx 80 minutes long. still some confusion there. good story, too bad sound and lighting isn't that good.
Fay Wray just one year after King Kong, and Claude Rains at the beginning of his career, and 8 yrs before Casablanca.

this is now one of the films on the four-film Mystery Collection from EchoBridge, 2005.
the other films are Fatal Hour, Fear in the Night & Devil's Party.

Of course, Claude Rains had starred in THE INVISIBLE MAN (1933) two years before this film, so his career was already on its way.
