Ending Was Unsatisfacory


Welch should have fallen to his death in the final scene. Then when assured that Welch was indeed dead, Eddie should have taken Kaye in his arms and said "Don't worry, darling. Welch will never bother us again", before kissing passionately at the fadeout.

That would have been a better ending. He made their life miserable, but this was a light-hearted early Shirley Temple film.
