Appreciate it even more now that I've seen the 2016 version

This one leaves the new Martin Sheen version in the dust and was even 12 minutes shorter. It just goes to show how important casting is. No one can touch the 1985 version, but this one has loads of charm and a coherent plot.

Did you see the Netflix version Anne With An E? I have not, but watched the trilogy with Martin Sheen. It was OK, but agree the '85 version is a classic. I watched it as a teen. I am watching the 30's classic now. I have also read a few of the Gable novels.
