Is there an English speaking copy?

I keep looking for this movie, but all I seem to find is a French language version of it. Does an English version exist and does anyone out there have a copy of the English version?

reply

The movie was produced in english language and probably the British Film Institute posesses a copy. However there has been no release yet, probably its everything but a promising film as its mostly described as a boring musical. I even dont know who owns copyrights in any country but the French version appearing is a bootleg transfer from French TV.

The version now available from Amazon.fr (With Downhill as an extra)is the English version; it has french subtitles but these can be switched off.....

I have just got the STudio Canal version. You can indeed switch off the subtitles. It's a good copy and also features a good transfer of Downhill.

For some reason these two films are not included in the superb UK release of "The EArly Hitchcock" from Studio Canal

It *seems* to be public domain as it's available at the link below for free download. I've not downloaded it myself but the blurb say the audio is English!?!?
If I'm wrong about the PD status will some kind moderator delete my post. Thanks

The copyright status seems to depend on what country you're in. Most, if not all, of Hitchcock's British films are in the public domain the U.S. It varies from country to country.
Most of his films were distributed by Gaumont British which is heavily represented on InternetArchive.org. Not just Hitchcock films. Some of his films were from British International Pictures (BIP) and also well represented on InternetArchive.org.
