This movie will be available as part of the King Kong box set set to release Nov. 22/05. Also included are the original 1933 King Kong, and Son Of Kong.

Specs: The Son of Kong will include the 70-minute restored B&W film on video in the original full frame, with Dolby Digital 2.0 mono audio and English, French and Spanish subtitles. Extras will include the theatrical trailer.

Thanks for the info, Big Sugar. I love "King Kong," of course, but unlike many "Kong" fans, I love "The Son of Kong," too. It's not a classic, certainly, but it's a wonderful film in its own right. A rare treat.

Why no Region 2 version? Region 1 owners of the King Kong collection get Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young, while we over here get those two utterly naff Japanese King Kong films.

I purchased both Kong films on DVD together for only eight bucks at a local Barnes & Noble in Central New Jersey.
