Mama Kong

If you have a daddy and a son, you need a mommy.

Has the possibility of doing a movie about the mom of son and wife of king ever been broached?

I imagine it would have to start with an explanation of how she survived the sinking of Skull Island.

reply

Momma was on the 'sail foon' too much to care.

reply

Hey maybe she died in ape birth

Maybe Kong was living with the T-Rex, and they adopted.

reply

Yeah but Kong was the only ape on the Island.
As far as we know

Perhaps the Island of Doctor Moreau was not far away and the evil doctor obtained DNA samples from Kong...

I thought Fay Wray was the momma!

Actually there is a movie called "Queen Kong." (1976) The tag line is "she's in one of her moods again!" I kid you not! She falls in love with the male lead (Ray Fay) and drags him up the tower that holds Big Ben with her.

There was also a movie "King Kong Lives" (1986), filmed in the mountains of East Tennessee, where Kong hooks up with a giant female gorilla. Linda Hamilton stars as a doctor who operates on King Kong, after he's been shot off the twin towers, and restores him bad to health. Meanwhile there's an man who has bought back to the USA a giant female ape from Africa . . . both "kongs" are in some type of animal medical facility in East Tennessee. When Kong realizes there is a his-size female gorilla around he stages a jailbreak and gets both of them out of the slammer.

I always thought they should return to that island...who didn't? Well there is a movie coming out called SKULL ISLAND and I hope they cover the subject of Mom and quite a few other things too...

The one major plot hole is the lack of a breeding population. King or, in the case of this movie, his offspring always seam to be the last of the line.

Well, if they didn't bother explaining to us how they could build a raft fit to ship Kong across the sea in just hours, I guess they didn't feel the need to lay out the Kong family tree in the next picture.

I love both movies anyway- they remain the best of the Kong pictures...especially the original :)

The T Rex killed the mother
