ending made me cry

I was only about 7 or 8 when I saw this, for the first and last time, in the nid-1970s. All I remember is the ending with Son of Kong trying to save everyone. I thought it was so sad.

it was pretty f-ed up how they made little Kong just die like that really

Yes, it was a sad good-bye to an engaging beast-character that we had seen for all too little screen time. But one must admit that, like his mighty sire, Little Kong's inner nobility of character came through to the very last. In that, at least, I say the sequel equals its progenitor.

Son Of Kong made me cry in the end as well. I saw this numerous times on Australian TV in the late 1970's and early 1980's. I remember the first time I saw it on TV I was at home and cried for little Kong...The last time I saw it on TV I was at my grandparents house and again I cried. Later I got it on VHS and by then I was a teen and kind of steeled against emotional films...Ive since watched it a few times on DVD and showed it to my daughter...She cried at the end too.

Its a great little movie that deserves more respect than it gets.

I was probably around the same age or a few years older when I first saw this movie too, and I also thought it was really sad. I still think it's really sad and I'm 40 now.

Yeah, that ending was quite surprising and heartbreaking. The image of baby Kong holding Carl Denham above the water as he drowns is impossible to forget.
