This excellent film has sadly vanished

I've been in contact with TCM's program director, and he has confirmed that this film is not in the Turner library, since RKO lost the rights to it at some point after it was last shown on AMC many years ago. He further informed me that the holder of the rights is unknown and that the film is unlikely to be played on TCM in the foreseeable future. The Silver Cord was undoubtedly Laura Hope Crews' finest hour on film and also contained several other memorable performances by a uniformly excellent cast--which makes it a serious loss to classic movie fans.
