"When women go wrong, men go right after them."

What?? A thread for Mae West quotes and not one mention of her most famous quip of alltime (from this very movie no less) "Why don't you come up and see me sometime" (which of course is actually said slightly different in the movie.)

She does say "come up and see me sometime", but in I'm No Angel (1933).

It's towards the end of the movie while she's on the phone to Juror #4. The entire phone conversation is:

Hello? Oh, Juror #4. Yes, I remember you. You were the one with the nice kind face. Mmm hmm.

Oh, I know you were for me. Mmm hmm.

I want to thank you for those beautiful flowers. They were lovely. And don’t forget – come up and see me sometime. Mmm hmm.

[Cary Grant walks in]

Oh, ah, yes, yes. Alright, good-bye.

In She Done Him Wrong she says: "Why don't you come up sometime and see me." Right after: "You know I always did like a man in a uniform, and that one fits you grand." To Cary Grant's character, Captain Cummings.

You are correct.

But the way this famous line is usually quoted is: "Come up and see me sometime", and it is only spoken exactly that way by Ms. West in I'm No Angel(1933).

Ma'am, there are 10 men here to see you.

Better send one of them home. I'm a little tired tonight.
