My favortie is from 'Myra Breckinridge'. the movie should be seen solely for her preformance.

Cowboy: Why, ma'am, I'm 6 feet 7 inches.

Mae West: Well, let's forget about the 6 feet, and talk about the 7 inches.

Oh yes, mine too! I just finished watching this movie for the first time and now all I keep saying every time I see a Cary Grant photo is "You can be had". Ohh, I am seriously going to run that saying into the literal ground.

Here are some great Mae West quotes, but don't ask me where ALL of them came from:

"A hard man is good to find."

"His mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork."

"Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

[To the question "Have you ever met a man that could make you happy?"]: "Several times." (From She Done Him Wrong)

"Good girls go to heaven, but bad girls get to go everywhere."

"My left leg is Christmas and my right leg is New Year's. Why don't you visit me between the holidays?"

(And my personal favorite)
"Sex is like bridge. If you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand."

COME NOT BETWEEN THE DRAGON AND HIS WRATH

In this movie, when Lou goes to visit Chick in jail, she knows everybody in the cells, and when she stopped by one cell with two guys in it, they say "Hello Lou" in unison and to her companion she replies "the Cherry sisters!" A rare gay remark (though not unusual for Mae who loved gay men)!

I liked that same scene when the one inmate is begging West that she has to see him when he gets out, and she asks him when he's getting out:

Inmate: "15 years."
West: "It's a date!"

reply

"When women go wrong, men go right after them."
