Lyrics to the song, 'Can't help but dream of you'

===========================
Can't help but dream of you
composed by Heinz Letton
===========================
(key of D)

For only one love
my heart is aching
if I am sleeping
if I am waking
I can't help but
dream of you...

Two hands so gentle
my fate are holding
until a day when
true love's unfolding
I can't help but
dream of you...

My heart is longing
for you alone, beloved
when you are smiling
a world of joy I feel...

No words can tell you
how much I really love you
you'll never know dear
how much you mean to me...

Throughout the days each year
you'll find me near
I'll wait for you
until you say to me
so tenderly
I do love you...

Then all my longing
for you alone, beloved
will not have been in vain
oh, then you will be mine...

Above are the song lyrics transcribed by ear to the best of my ability.

The first two lyrics of the last line in the closing verse were exceedingly difficult to perceive clearly. Please let me know what your interpretation and ears tell you along with any other corrections which may need to be made.

Regarding the opening line of the 5th verse, ''Throughout EACH DAY each year, you'll find me near...''

I strongly suspect Gloria stumbled but covered it gracefully and meant to instead sing, ''Throughout THE DAYS each year, you'll find me near....'' which unarguably flows far better lyrically.

Unfortunately, without the original sheet music there's no way of knowing with any reasonable degree of certainty. Does anyone still have the original sheet music in their collection or piano bench? If so, I'd sure treasure acquiring a copy.

Acknowledgement: This effort is dedicated to my favorite professor Paul McKay from Stockton State College (1975) Pomona NJ who taught us the importance of "Music & the Movies" relative to their strategic interdependence. Without his guidance, insight, passion and inspiration I'd never have known or cared about this extraordinarily precious song or film from 1933. He gave me a great appreciation for an entire world of musical film culture I never knew existed along with a burning desire to escape beyond the bounds of my own brief lifespan by pursuing that vast realm.
