If you look quickly you can see Leslie Howard (Ashley Wilkes in Gone With The Wind) as one of the kitchen helpers in this movie.

I'm pretty sure that's not right. Leslie Howard was already a leading man and wouldn't be playing a bit part. In fact he was nominated against Charles Laughton that year at the Academy Awards for his role in Berkeley Square.
My guess us that the person that you think is Leslie Howard is actually his brother Arthur who does have an uncredited role as one of the kitchen help.

His brother looks exactly like him, its uncanny.
