It may have just been stock footage, but what amusement park was the scenes shot at? Most likely in Calif., but I don't know. Was hoping it would be listed in the "Filming Locations"..no such chance.

Its most likely the Venice Pier Amusement Park which was used frequently in silent comedies and such..also it was used in the Our Gang short Fish Hookey

Yes, it was the old Venice Pier. The short shows The Great American Racing Derby and The Flying Circus attractions. Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin also filmed there during this era. Here is a link to old photos:
