Outside of some shocking scenes...

This film isn't good at all. It's dull, horribly acted, and has tons of mis-placed humor. Some of the animal attacking scenes we're cool though, and the ending where all the animals go loose and fight was cool, but besides that, BLAH. I give it a generous 3/10.

I agree, this film was flat and kind of dull. Atwill was awesome, but Ruggles killed it. Plus, it's NOT a horror film at all. I can't believe people voted it so high here.

Once upon a time, horror films depended upon psychological elements and story to provide the horror instead of in-your-face jump scares and gore. That was much more scary that the crap that is called horror today.

That's just snobbish nonsense. The only films that "depended upon psychological elements..." were low budget trash like Murders in the Zoo. They had no choice, so they made do with what they had. I'll take King Kong et al over this boring garbage any day!

Hitchcock didn't.... the blood draining was much worse than actually seeing the stabbing and took a lot more craft to pull off.

I thought it was an okay film
