Fantastic !!!!!!!

First of all, I must say I am a big fan of Charlie Ruggles ! One of the finest dressed men in movies. I would say, "debonair" ! Now what I thought was one of the best endings I have ever seen. I'm 72 years and a movie buff. Love the Thirties, Forties and Fifties movies. The runaway ending had my heart pounding and I was finger nail biting all the way. I don't want to spoil it for anyone else, but if you have a chance please see it.

This was a lot of fun. The stuff with the locomotive at the end was terrific. I wonder why they never re-made this in later years even tho' its fine without a remake. Was happily surprised by it. I wonder where they filmed the runaway car; it reminded me of Colorado, but I don't know.

Nothing is more beautiful than Turhan Bey.

I saw it today for the first time and after that ending, I wondered the same thing! This film was very entertaining. Charles Ruggles and Una Merkle are 2 of my favorites among classic film stars. I adore b&w mysteries from the 20's-50's. I also adore TCM for showing them.

The early bird might get the worm, but the 2nd mouse gets the cheese!

"....I wonder where they filmed the runaway car..."

Wikipedia says it was filmed in Southern Pacific's Donner Pass.

I love 1930s mysteries. This wasn't one of the better ones, but the final 15 minutes sure made it worth viewing!
