Did I only imagine...?

Did I only imagine that, after Mary's baby dies, and she has her breakdown while holed up in her apartment, wanting to be left alone, that there's a HUGE glaringly un-missable white (perhaps grey) streak through her hair on the right (viewer's left) side of her head - that then completely has vanished by a couple of minutes later, when Mary is alone and contemplating throwing herself out the window? I don't think I could have imagined that white streak, as it was so VERY conspicuous - while it lasted!

I think that Glenda Farrell's performance is exceptional in this movie. I usually have found her acting to be overdone, and decidedly "hammy," but, in this movie, think she gave a moving, restrained, and entirely convincing performance. I was very impressed by her here.

I saw the white streak through her hair as well, during that one sequence, and then it did disappear. I presume that, with films being churned out so quickly in the 1930's, continuity wasn't a major concern, unless the film was a big-budget extravaganza. As for Glenda Farrell, I love her just because of her acting style, which reminds me of the Bowery Boys on steroids!

I think it was probably done deliberately to illustrate the stress she was under.

It seemed to fade away as the story progressed.
