Peter Lawford Lookalike

Does anyone know the name of the actor in Little Women that is the splitting image of Peter Lawford?

Just watched today on TCM for their day of Katherine Hepburn, and I have to say that I had to recheck which Little Women I was watching, because Douglass Montgomery sounded EXACTLY like Peter Lawford!

Little Women was one of my favorite stories as a pre-teen and I also read the series, and to me Katherine was the perfect Jo--wheres as June Allyson was annoying...

and the complaint of a "tinny sounding quaint production" is just ridiculous-they sounded to me as 4 girls spirited happy young women of the 1860s should sound.

Wow, I felt the exact opposite! While Katherine Hepburn grew into a great actress I found her acting way over the top. Its her 4th film and her inexperience shows. I think June Allyson had a naturally bubbly personality and I found her a joy to watch as Jo.She will always be Jo to me. Hepburn's portrayal seemed so unnatural and forced even melodramatic at times. I also grew up reading Little Women and I felt that June Allyson and Winona Ryder better captured Jo's essence and love of writing.

I'm kind of somewhere in between the two of you. I thought Hepburn did a marvelous job of conveying the tomboyish awkwardness of Jo. But for the most part her acting was over-the-top. She shouted and bellowed her lines. And I was ultimately less invested in her portrayal of Jo than I was in Allyson's.
