"mashed potato" gibberish

When Carl Denham's party is discovered by the islanders the chief approaches spouting gibberish. I'm sure the actor portraying him, Noble Johnson was told to make up some nonsense language. When I watched this with my daughter she said the chief was referring to Fay Wray as "mashed potato". I replayed the scene and sure enough he seems to do so on three occasions. Maybe Noble Johnson just had lunch in the commissary and mashed potatoes were on the menu.
