it's amazing how because of censor they have to imply things and work around and there by making greater pieces in my opinion, like you have to imagine what the poor girl have gone through with dr. moreau when she meets, what appears to be, her first encounter with a gentleman. it's funny how a word like "jackass" gets mentioned much in old movies, that word must have had a major comeback later, also i liked how moreau said "my dear young fool". you might say it's extraordinary how such an old movie can be so suspenseful and tense, but thinking about it that really makes sense as in modern movies they just blast through everything without any thought of censorship, why is it that they mastered making movies closer to the dawn of cinema and most today is just nonsense rather than polished fine tuning progress and you ask yourself "why is this being made?". oh, money... right. at times the players seem to have a hard time keeping a straight face, makes you wonder if they had a good time making this. bela lugosi is hardly in the movie until the end scenes, and playing one of the beast men, i even forgot while watching he was in it, but somehow his performance of dialogue was powerful and really hits you. two pleasant interviews from movie experts included on dvd.

felt more home with you,
than the honky tonk i should,
in your kitchen filled on soul food,
im now poor in spirit without you,
driftin outside the window lights,
without anywhere to feel invite.
