Pre-code Gem

Lots of laughs, although a paper thin plot

WC Fields is at his best, always looking for a drink and geting saucy with the females. Burns and Allen have some pretty funny scenes. Cab Calloway sings "The Reefer Man" and lots more. A must see for those into pre code films.

The way I see it, is that we weren't retreating, we were just attacking in a new direction.

They certainly got away with a lot in this film, didn't they? It almost looks like a '60s version of a '30s film!

Even though I do have the DVD, I've only seen it on television...once.

This is almost like a who's who of Hollywood at the time.

This is why I love old movies, the standards back then are SO different than today. Also, these are the movies my parents saw growing up (even though Mom was 2 and Dad was 5).

Just a great movie. And a great last line........when Joyce asks Fields who the parents of a litter of kittens were they find in the back of his minicar....
fields responds, "careless my dear, careless!"

It is very amusing, The scenes with Burns and Allen and Franklin Pangbourne are particularly fun.
