DVD or VHS
I hope this film will be available in DVD or even in VHS: I want to see it and compare to other versions of this magnificent story!

"Wake" is not at all like the Mutiny on the Bounty films with Charles Laughton or Marlon Brando. There is documentary footage mixed with scenes of a storyteller and disjointed scenes of Bounty related theatrics. Like other reviewers have stated, the film is quite bad. There is a $1 store DVD I own that has Sante Fe Trail as the main feature. The print quality is poor...very scratched. Its possible there are no good prints available.

shareFlynn was with Warners and this was an MGM film. Captain Blood came out the same year and made Flynn a star but it was too alter for him to have been considered for the MGM film, even on a loan-out. Flynn was still a very inexperienced actor at the time, (even his performance in Captain Blood is kind of amateurish at times). He would ahve made a amrvelous Fletcher Christian if the film had been made a few years later by Warners, when Flynn was a more experinced actor. he was actually a descendant of one of the Bounty's crew.
The past is a series of presents. The present is living history we are privileged to witness
