Come on??

It did not make sense that Peggy came out of jail after 20 years and after a make-over looks the same as she did 20 yrs earlier before she went to prison.

It's Saks! There's a reason why Winona stole from there.Their stuff is gorgeous!

I thought the 20 years was a bit much, and suprised Kay Francis didn't object! They should have given her 10 years off for good behaviour, but then I guess the baby would have been too young for the story.

me too. the mature look was more attractive. but she certainly did not look like a woman who had been in prison 20 years.
I saw a picture of Kay in her later years and her face was fuller.
but she looked much the same with some silver streaks.

The opening of the movie, when Peggy was a chorus girl, was 1905. Then she had her daughter, who was shown to be around four or five years old, so it must have been 1909 or 1910. Then she got sentenced to 20 years, which would have lasted until about 1929 or 1930. When she got out, it was 1925, so she didn't spend more than about 15 years in prison.
