Can't wait. Watch this board sprout some threads soon, once people start to see this great little gangster film featuring an indescribably cute Kinuyo Tanaka.

Time for a new signature, perhaps. Hmmmm...

Finally got the set.

Halfway through Dragnet Girl.

It's the worst non-public domain dvd image I've ever seen.

Bad combing on any fast movement, and it appears to have been 'cleaned', smearing detail into a blur.

Great film, but be warned.

If to stand pat means to resist evil then, yes, neighbour, we wish to stand pat.

Just watched it myself, and found it rather mediocre overall. 'I Was Born, But' is surely Ozu's greatest Silent film.
