DVD is terribly misleading

I only say that because I can't think of any other 30s film DVDs with such...modern looking covers.

MGM probably knew what they were trying and at least a few morons bought this expecting a recent horror film.

Anyhow, the film itself is mediocre. Technically I was surprised though

Well, the 1933 date is a big tip-off that it's an old film. I'm just sayin'.

Nah, I read about the film on a list of '30s horror classics. Since I've watched or owned the DVDs of SO many of these films, I found it pretty remarkable how Ghouls tries to sell itself as a much more recent film.
I KNOW people should read the labels. I do. I'm just saying, MGM definitely knew what they were doing. I'm not condemning them for it; power to them if they can capitalize on idiocy.

I know this thread is getting pretty old, but can you point me to a good site that reviews 1930's horror films? I'm really interested in pursuing the genre/era more fully.

I have this film on DVD and I love it, but I knew what I was getting into (being a Karloff fan). I can see how some people might be misled.
