Fay Wray Scream in Title Number?

the woman who falls out of the hotel room before Dick Powell sings in the '42nd Street' number's scream sounds a lot like Fay Wray's scream from King Kong, which was in production at the same time. Coincidence?

reply

Well, since King Kong was at RKO and 42nd Street was at Warner's, I would bet on any similarity being a coincidence.

Actually the OP is correct. It is Fay Wray's scream...but it is not from KING KONG.

It is her scream from DOCTOR X (1932), which was a Warner Bros film.

So, is this the closest feminine equivalent of the ubiquitous Wilhelm scream? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_scream)

Badgers? We don't need no stinkin' badgers! But if you could show us something in a nice possum...
